Elizabeth "Lib" Dunbar Simms, 80, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday morning, January 18, 2008, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Simms, a native of Hyde County, was the daughter of the late Bonnie Graham and Golda Mae Tooley Dunbar. She was the widow of the late Roy Keith Simms. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine D. Whitley, and a brother, Jesse T. Dunbar.

She was retired from the Bibb Company as payroll clerk after 47 years of service. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids.

Mrs. Simms is survived by her sister, Dorothy D. Allen, of Chesapeake, Va.; her brother, Robert Allen Dunbar, of New Durham, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 20, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Dr. LaVelle Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 19, 2008, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
